Cargill Philippines to build glucose plant

CARGILL Philippines will be investing in a glucose processing plant in Batangas, a province near the capital Manila, the Board of Investments (BOI) announced. No figures were disclosed. The facility will be located near Nestlé Philippines non-dairy coffee creamer plant, BOI executive director Lucita P. Reyes said, adding that Cargill glucose supplied to Nestlé is currently imported from China. Nestlé Philippines earlier announced it would invest PhP 4.35 billion over a period of two years for the first phase expansion, a 64,000-ton-per-year Coffeemate manufacturing plant, which will primarily serve the domestic market. Construction is expected to begin this month whilst commercial operations will start March 2012. The Philippines, the second largest consumer of Coffeemate after the United States, currently imports 26,000 to 27,000 tons the non-dairy creamer annually from Thailand.Shop Women's Sneakers by Brand
