Carolinas HealthCare and Edison Nation in joint venture

CHARLOTTE, NC – Carolinas HealthCare System and Edison Nation have formed Edison Nation Medical, LLC. According to a press release, the joint venture was formed to stimulate innovations in healthcare delivery and improvements in patient care. The combination will provide a platform for physicians, nurses, and other caregivers, as well as patients, to submit their best ideas to further medical innovation and technology.

Michael C. Edison Nation is a Charlotte-based product developer and online social community for inventors. The company works with major retailers and manufacturers.

Development ideas will come primarily from (1) Innovation Searches hosted by Edison Nation Medical, to find ideas to license and develop, and (2) Innovation Searches sponsored by corporations seeking specific product solutions.
