Castolin Eutectic extends production capabilities in China

The new 3,200 m² factory is located close to the airport. The company currently manufactures CDP® wearplates and cored wires, with further investments planned in 2016 for additional standard CDP® production lines, plasma cutting machines and bending/rolling equipment for customized wear parts fabrication.

Moreover, the Castolin Eutectic Chinese subsidiary provides workshop and in-situ welding/coating services by plasma transferred arc and arc spray. Hosting a spacious production hall, a maintenance and repair workshop, demo rooms for customer visits, stock warehouse and administrative offices, the new premises are well equipped for providing one-stop-shop services to the Chinese market.

CDP® wearplates consist of an easy-to-weld steel plate overlaid with abrasion and erosion resistant alloys by means of arc welding, metal atomized or plasma powder coating. Their role is to provide extended lifespan of protected surfaces, reduce maintenance costs and increase plant availability by means of less frequent maintenance shutdowns.

Amongst the wearplates manufactured in China, CDP® 4666 is the premium quality product for High Load High Wear surfaces, ensuring extreme abrasion and erosion resistance. Its complex carbide structure contains a high density of hard particles. The extremely tough boron and niobium particles are finely dispersed in-between the chromium carbides, reducing their spacing and ensuring the best protection from abrasive and erosive media of finer size.
