Newtec Case Palletizing’s expertise in liquid dairy products to enhance Cermex’s range and expertise
CORCELLES-LèS-C?TEAUX, France -- Secondary packaging machinery company, Cermex, is acquiring Newtec Case Palletizing from the Newtec Group. The acquisition represents a continuation of Cermex’s growth strategy, by consolidating and strengthening its three-dimensional expertise in case packing, shrink-wrapping and palletizing. No terms and figures were provided.
As part of the deal, Cermex will acquire the Newtec Case Palletizing plant in Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre in France, and its related layer-by-layer and robotic-unit load palletizing activity.
In addition to expanding its turnover to €120 million and workforce to nearly 800 employees, Cermex said the acquisition will also create opportunities for synergies, both internationally and in new market segments.
The prospect of creating a stronger organisation with three expertise centres in France dedicated to case packing in Corcelles-lès-C?teaux, shrink-wrapping in Lisieux, and palletizing in Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre, as well as the potential for international growth, will naturally lead to the integration of all Newtec Case Palletizing employees.
Newtec Case Palletizing’s expertise in liquid dairy products will form a more integral part of the Cermex strategy, and this new stage of expansion will further improve its service to its historical customers in the food, beverage, home care, personal care and health care sectors, Cermex said.
Created in 1974, Cermex is continuing its growth strategy to consolidate its positions as an international player; partner to industrialists on a local level; and producer of innovative and reliable solutions for automating secondary packaging with four production plants in France, China and India; nine subsidiaries and sales offices; and turnover of €100 million. Cermex has been part of the Sidel Group (Tetra Laval) since 1996.
