BAKEL, The Netherlands -- GEA Convenience-Food Technologies, part of the Düsseldorf-based GEA Group, has appointed new Board members, effective 01 February 2012.
The changes reflect the ambition to fully seize the opportunities the market segment of protein food offers, GEA Group said. “The growth of the global population and the increasing demand for high quality food provide us with many opportunities to increase our business,” says Dirk Hejnal, the new Segment President of GEA Convenience-Food Technologies. “I am really looking forward to further developing our business and contributing to the strategic direction to expand the food process technology activities of the GEA Group.”
Mr Hejnal, 45, joined GEA in 1986 and has been president of the segment, GEA Farm Technologies, since 2008.
Apart from Mr Hejnal, the three other new board members are Dr Hans-J?rg Harth as chief financial officer and Dr Marco Gandini as chief operations officer. Finally, Michael K?mpfert has been appointed vice president of Human Resources and Legal Affairs.
