Chloroprene rubber imports from Japan will be taxed by 20.8%
THE Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has decided to adjust anti-dumping duties on chloroprene rubber imported from Japan to 20.8 percent starting from Friday.
The change was made according to the ministry's anti-dumping review on imports from Japanese company Denki Kagaku Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha at the request of Chinese companies that claimed the original anti-dumping tax was too low.
The review found that the Japanese company had dumped its exports in China at a margin of 20.8 percent.
Chloroprene rubber, commonly known as Neoprene, is mostly used to manufacture electrical cables and waterproof products.
In May 2005, the ministry imposed anti-dumping duties ranging from 2 to 151 percent on imported chloroprene rubber from Japan, the United States and the European Union with a term of 5 years.
In 2011, the ministry extended the anti-dumping duties for another five years.
