The new generation SPHERO?50 features a well thought-out design and improved ergonomics with the resulting customer benefits including a quick start-up, permanent process reliability also with difficult products, and an outstanding pellet quality. Its operator-friendly compact design sees all system components mounted on a mobile frame, offering unhampered access from all sides. This significantly eases the cleaning of the machine and product changeovers.

Automatik’s SPHERO?50 is ideally suited to test plants and technical centres but also smaller production factories with varied pelletizing application options for virgin polymers, masterbatches, compounds, technical plastics, recycling, thermal elastomers, micro-granular compounds, and organic and timber-polymer materials. The SPHERO?50 is capable of handling flow-rates of up to 600kg/h. In economic terms, even significantly lower flow-rates from approximately 70kg/h become profitable (subject to product). The SPHERO?50, the smallest system in the series offers the same benefits as the bigger models while featuring the same functionalities.

Special attention has been given to the new design of the cutter hub and the cutting chamber. Thus the flow characteristics of the pellet inside the cutting chamber have been optimized. The benefits both for the operator and the customer are minimized generation of dust with brittle products, reduced wear with fibre-reinforced plastics, and reduced agglutination with thermoplastic elastomers.

With no less than 500 references in China alone, the BAOLI line of dry-cut strand pelletizers is tailor-made for each application. The machines are manufactured at Maag’s brand new Shanghai facility using German technology and the company’s expertise to guarantee that the quality standards that distinguish its services and products outside Asia remain in force in China and the region. The BAOLI series is available in three basic machine sizes with operating widths of 100 mm, 200 mm and 300 mm.
