CHINAPLAS 2014 holds successful opening with 3,000 exhibitors

THOUSANDS of visitors flocked to the opening day of CHINAPLAS 2014 to view the latest technologies machinery/equipment, raw materials solutions and many other products exhibited by 3,000 exhibitors. With China as Asia’s largest market, there is no doubt the show has taken a special position in the global plastics and rubber industry.

 A large number of foreign and domestic manufacturers hold demonstration of their latest machinery and equipment intended to meet China’s growing demand for plastic products.

Sustainability being the hottest trend, many forward-looking companies are optimistic that China businesses will ultimately commit to sustainability in their operations and this will drive demand for energy-efficient, high-speed machinery and equipment, as well as biodegradable and environment-friend raw materials.

The world’s second biggest exhibition and Asia’s leading trade event, CHINAPLAS has taken on a more direct agenda to meet increasing demand for more sustainable business practices.

The event promotes sustainability under the theme of "Greenovation – Solution to Sustainability", with "The City of Tomorrow" and "Green Conference" as two featured events at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 23 – 26 April 2014.  

The “City of Tomorrow,” has attracted many curious visitors with its presentation of a comprehensive sustainability model which covers various aspects of the manufacturing cycle. Embedded with enormous fun elements such as attractive display of exhibits, info boards and interactive games in different clusters of the model, participants will be impressed by the innovative and interesting green messages and sustainability trends. The model covers the sustainability concept in four aspects, namely Green and Alternative Raw Materials, Energy-efficient Machinery, Plastics and Rubber Applications, and Recycling. Visitors can explore the latest green messages and trends from manufacturing till the end of the life of the products through interactive displays and game booths in a fun and relaxing manner.

Another important attraction is the two-day conference to be held on 24 – 25 April. The conference sessions cover "Innovative Solutions for Plastic Recycling" and "Green Molding to Halve the Cost and Double the Wealth" respectively. The conference will highlight a range of forward-thinking topics such as green moulding, 3D printing, plastics recycling as well as various solutions for end-of-life plastic wastes.
