A global leader in high-performance plastic and rubber extrusion and converting systems, Davis-Standard exhibited its dsX product line for packaging, medical and automotive industry, including stretch cast film, medical tubing and packaging at the recently concluded CHINAPLAS 2016 in Shanghai.

The new dsX s-tretch™ pre-stretch cast film extrusion line is the first in-line pre-stretch system enabling customers to run thinner films at higher speeds. This line is targeted for stretch film providers looking for a system that can produce consistent, high-quality pre-stretch film with greater efficiency. The two-meter wide line also has the advantage of a smaller footprint, yet allows for growth. In addition to dsX s-tretch™ pre-stretch cast film extrusion line, Davis-Standard also promoted the dsX™ technology for medical tubing and packaging. The demand for dsX™ medical tubing system and the dsX flex-pack™ extrusion coating line is growing rapidly in Asia due to the expansion of medical and flexible packaging applications.

Speaking on the development of the dsX technology, President and CEO of Davis-Standard James Murphy said:” The dsX technology continues to evolve to provide features meeting the requirements of new applications. The system is being continously improved to enhance productivity.  Most of the enhancements are for new applications, primarily in packaging, where we found new markets or markets where our customers would like to enter or be more competitive.”

China and the rest of the Asian markets are very important to Davis-Standard since 25-30% of its global business are in Asia.  “Apart from China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and also Korea are very strong, mportant and active markets for us and the annual CHINAPLAS event is a great opportunity to connect with our customers in the region. We have been participating in CHINAPLAS for 10 years. It used to be the local manufacturers who would come to this show. But now it has become more global. You can see all the global manufacturers, materials, equipment and technology coming to China to participate at this event. It's a great way to connect," Mr. Murphy said.
