CHINAPLAS 2016: Moving forward in smart manufacturing and sustainability

The application of advanced production technologies while embarking on a route toward green manufacturing are the goals of this year’s CHINAPLAS  as it provides advanced environmental friendly plastic raw materials and cutting-edge automation equipment for the green transformation and technology upgrade for various industrial sectors dependent on plastics and rubber.

CHINAPLAS 2016, the 30th International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries, held on  April 25-28, 2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, China covers more than  240,000 sqm. The show gathers more than 3,300 exhibitors from around the world with pavilions coming from 13 countries and regions, namely Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, People’s Republic of China, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, and United States.

Over 3,800 units of machinery equipment and a wide range of plastics and rubber materials are demonstrated on the show floor. As an important venue for the launch of new products, over 800 exhibitors are set to introduce technologies which are applied in the building and construction industry. Currently, some of the confirmed famous exhibitors include ACS, BASF, Borouge, Clariant, Conair, Covestro, DOW Chemical, Dow Corning, ExxonMobil, Fangli, Jwell, Lanxess, Polyplastics, Yizumi, Yudo, Yuntianhua, Zhejiang Shuanglin, Battenfeld-Cincinnati, KraussMaffei Berstorff, KEBA, DSM, TEIJIN, etc.  

Concurrent events for informative exchanges

CHINAPLAS 2016 has been committed to presenting the latest market trends and technology developments for insiders of the industry. Adsale, the show organizer, and VDMA (the German Engineering Federation) co-organize the "Industry 4.0 Conference". Many of German leading enterprises in automated machinery and equipment are set to participate in the forum and discuss topics based on Industry 4.0, varying from the fundamental concepts to the practical engineering. This can help the audience to have a deeper understanding of the background and future trend of Industry 4.0. More important the exchanges will encourage the dissemination of more practical solutions to the manufacturing industry which currently has pressing demands for transformation and upgrade.

On April 25-26 , the "2nd Medical Plastics Conference" takes place to provide insights on new technologies and the latest developments related to the use of plastics in medical devices, disposables and packaging. Provisional topics include: automation for upgrading production; cleanroom manufacturing technologies; medical-grade polymer applications for disposables; pharmaceutical packaging solutions; innovative applications of 3-D printing; and sterile barrier systems for medical packaging..

Another concurrent event, namely "Design x Innovation", is co-organized with  BASF. The event presents a series of innovative design made of high-performance materials, covering industries including transportation, sports and leisure, construction and home, etc. Visitors can experience the various applications of plastics technology in the design of product outlook, internal structure as well as function. Featuring expert-led open forums, interactive activities and an innovation gallery, these sessions engage and inspire participants. "Design X Innovation" will give new perspectives on how plastics technology and high-performance materials, combined with creative design, can help to drive sustainable and innovative solutions across a wide range of diverse segments.  

As the internationalized procurement and business discussion platform for buyers of the industry, CHINAPLAS 2016 is expected to attract 140,000 trade visitors from 150 countries and regions. In the past editions, the show demonstrated a strong presence of famous enterprises, including Zhejiang Zhongcai Pipes, Dalian Shide, Xi'an Gaoke, Guangdong Lesso, Wuhan Kingbull, Ginde, Beijing Oriental Yuhong, Shenzhen Joaboa, Foshan Rifeng and Goody, etc.
