CHINAPLAS: Addivant unveils renewable resource-derived products

Chinaplas 2013 was the official worldwide launch for specialty additives company Addivant since it announced new ownership earlier this month. The Chinaplas audience was also the first to learn about POLYBOND 6009 and POLYBOND 6029, Addivant’s innovative new polymer modifier products derived from renewable resources.

POLYBOND 6009 and 6029 act as coupling agents or compatibilizers in formulations where high renewable content raw materials are preferred. The polymer modifiers do not use petroleum-based feedstocks and contain greater than 95% renewable content raw materials. The launch of these new innovative product grades complement a growing portfolio of Addivant additives developed from renewable resources, including the cutting-edge GENOX high performance, phenol-free stabilizer, derived from rapeseed oil. GENOX functions as both a primary and secondary antioxidant to offer exceptional melt flow properties and colour protection during polyolefin processing.

The company, whose regional headquarters is in Shanghai, also unveiled a new corporate identity and announced plans for expanding its facilities, broadening product offering and fostering innovation.
