China's major plastics event on "green" path

Energy saving and environmental protection are future trends in the plastics and rubber industries. There is increasing demand for innovative energy-saving technologies, renewable and recyclable materials to improve production efficiency and competitiveness. According to the latest report from Freedonia, global demand for bioplastics could rise to 900,000 tonnes in 2013, growing annually by 35.1%. In response to the growing worldwide interest focused on "green plastics", the organiser of CHINAPLAS 2010 will host a series of concurrent activities under the theme, "Green Plastics. Our Goal. Our Future." CHINAPLAS has undoubtedly gained a reputation for being one of the world's leading information and technological exchange platforms for the plastics and rubber industries for the discussion on green plastics and how 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) can be adopted to current and future production processes. The show, to be held from 19 - 22 April 2010 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre Pudong will be held two weeks ahead of Shanghai 2010 World's Expo. To stress the event's sustainable development thrust, Green Corners will be set up to share green tips and display exhibitors' latest green technology on plastics and rubber products. In addition, a three-day industrial forum on green technology will be staged from 19 - 21 April 2010 to examine the development of green plastics industry in different parts of the world, including Mainland China, Japan, Europe, USA, as well as the applications of green plastics in various user industries. Real case discussions on the application of bioplastics in different industries such as automobile, building & construction, packaging, E&E, IT and telecommunications will be held. CHINAPLAS 2010 covers 150,000 square metres of exhibition area, to be occupied by 1,900 exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, including 10 country/ region pavilions hosted by Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK, USA, PR China, and Taiwan Province. A total of 1,900 sets of latest machines, chemicals, and raw materials will be showcased. The trade fair is expected to attract 75,000 professional visitors, 18% of whom will come from more than 130 countries and regions.Adidas
