According to the Stainless Steel Council of the China Special Steel Enterprises Assn (CSSC), China’s crude stainless steel output rose by 21.2% to 10.7 million tons in the first half of this year on the yearly basis.
The country produced 5.6 million tons of 300-series stainless steel, up by 27.3% compared with 4.4 million tons in the same period of 2013.Output of 400-series stainless steel totaled 2.2 million tons, increasing 18.1% year on year.
Besides, the country’s output of 200-series stainless steel reached 2.9 million tons, increasing by 13% compared with 2.56 million tons in the first six months of last year.
The country’s exports hit 1.9 million tons, an increase of 47.1% compared to the corresponding period a year earlier.
