ARAWANA Rice Bran Oil of China Yihai Kerry Group took home the "Quality Award of International Rice Bran Oil" during the third International Conference of Rice Bran Oil (ICRBO) held on 25 October in Tokyo, Japan.
The only one for rice bran oil, the award is also known as the "Nobel Prize" of edible oil. The winner was selected by a jury of grease experts from China, Japan, India, Thailand, Vietnam, and other countries.
ICRBO Council (International Conference of Rice Bran Oil) headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, is a non-profit organization managed and executed by governments from major rice bran oil production areas, whose mission is to track the rice bran oil market, formulate industrial rules and standards, implement technical cooperation plans, educate consumers, encourage research of biological effects of rice bran oil, and promote all actions that harmonize the development of the international rice bran oil economy.
The rating of "Quality Award of International Rice Bran Oil" follows extremely harsh standards, on technical innovation, quality control, industrial scale, and other criteria. Meanwhile, the promotion of rice bran oil, global brand influence, social responsibility, energy efficiency and environmental protection of the company are taken into consideration.
It is difficult to get oil from rice bran as doing so requires state-of-the-art technology and advanced processes. Yihai Kerry has made great efforts to do research on Arawana Rice Bran Oil and industrial innovation. It picked 4 species out of 5,000 rice species and grew the rice in China in a latitude close to that of Akita, Japan. It has made remarkable achievements in blending rice bran oil, expanding the rice industrial chain and bolstering market promotion. It's fair to say that Japanese enterprises created rice bran oil, but Chinese enterprises are taking a key part in its innovation.
