Metalworking
Three years after the acquisition of the majority of the SCHERER Feinbau GmbH, the management company of the CHIRON Werke SE has now also acquired the remaining 24.9 percent of the shares.

Newly built SCHERER Feinbau building in Alzenau

The company, headquartered in the Franconian town of Alzenau, is now completely owned by the CHIRON Group.

At the same time, SCHERER is expanding its management team. As of May 1, Christian Märtens will oversee the areas of sales and service. Until recently, Mr. Märtens was Head of Sales Germany of Chiron-Werke. Along with Dennis Thiesen he will drive forward the successful development of the company. They will be further supported in this by Dr. Achim Degner, who has also been a member of the Board of SCHERER Feinbau since last summer.
In 2015, SCHERER Feinbau moved into its new production and administration building in Alzenau, which was build for 16 million euros, and has re-strengthened the company's processes over the last year. The number of new orders has been developing positively.

CHIRON Group expands its expertise in turning machining
The integration of SCHERER as a successful manufacturer of vertical lathes into the Chiron Group has expanded its expertise in providing production solutions for turning machining. There are synergies being opened up in development, international sales and service, and more will follow in purchasing.

Turning/milling cells from SCHERER and CHIRON
At last year's EMO in Milan, CHIRON and SCHERER gave an initial impression of the possibilities for cooperation: Together they presented the professional audience with an interface-free complete system from a single source which enables highly efficient, automated and twin-spindle turning and milling of cylinder head components.

A similar system will also be shown at this year's OPEN HOUSE in Tuttlingen, from March 9 to 11. There, all members of the CHIRON Group will present themselves together for the first time; along with CHIRON and SCHERER, there will also be STAMA and CMS.

Complete system from CHIRON and SCHERER Feinbau, for example, for highly efficient, automated and twin-spindle turning and milling of cylinder head components.
