TUTTLINGEN, Germany – This year, Chiron will hold its in-house exhibition in Tuttlingen from Wednesday, March 26, to Friday, March 28, 2014. The company will be presenting its entire range of products and a selection of innovations in live demonstrations. The focus is on solutions for higher productivity, highest processing quality and shorter throughput times. Last year, about 1,500 interested parties visited the "CHIRON OPEN HOUSE".
As it is every year, Chiron employees will be available for unhurried discussions of current projects and to answer detailed questions from interested customers.
The innovations shown include the single and double spindle machining centers of the 24 and 26 series, which allow highly productive machining of large components. They are characterized by maximum precision, powerful cutting performance, fast rapid feeds and accelerations, short chip-to-chip times and tool changes within seconds. Numerous equipment options allow the models to be adapted to individual customer needs.
With its 26 series, Chiron is presenting its first horizontal machining center. The target group are mainly manufacturers of large workpieces, such as gear housings, structural parts or components made of heat resistant castings for which the machine provides bridge dimensions from 1250 to 3000 mm and traverse paths in the Y and Z directions of 630 mm, respectively. The single-spindle version is optionally available with a swivel head; for the double-spindle design, spindle clearances of 600 or 900 mm are available.
The "Chiron Tool Tower" tool magazine is another highlight of the Open House. The tools are stored spirally around two towers behind the machining center. The modularly structured magazine for changes of up to 210 tools during machining time shortens set-up times, leading to improving productivity.
With its new baseline product line, the company offers five complete and cost-effective precision manufacturing centres, which can be adapted to the production needs of the customers. The baseline single-spindle machines are pre-configured and can be used universally and flexibly.
Technical lectures and user meetings
Technical lectures and user meetings will complement the exhibition. Speakers and practitioners from the industry will give presentations on topics related to the focal subjects of "efficient technologies", "innovative technologies" and "optimised processes in precision technology".
Gregor Grandl, Business Unit manager at Porsche Consulting, starts the series with his lecture on "Efficient Production: Lean Production in the Automotive Industry" on Wednesday.
Keynote speaker Detlef Lohmann, managing director of "Allsafe JUNGFALK", presents his ideas on business management on the following day: "And at noon, I go home. The completely different way to lead a company to success." Company boss Mr Lohmann has had success with a corporate structure that is impossible according to economic theory. During the evening event, he will explain how he runs his business and what is so special about it.
Dr-Ing Dirk Prust, director of Sales, Engineering and Service at Chiron, will explain the recent entry of the company in the production of vertical machining centers with the motto "seconds ahead in any position – horizontal or vertical".
