Chr. Hansen, FMC alliance targets crop protection market

Chr. Hansen and FMC Corporation have announced an exclusive partnership to expand in the biological plant protection market. Under the new alliance, these companies will develop new products and build knowledge and biological expertise. As agreed, FMC, which is a diversified chemical company, will be responsible for the development and commercialisation of biological crop protection products.

According to Chr. Hansen, it will provide scouting, screening, scale up and fermentation manufacturing expertise whilst FMC will provide scouting, screening, formulation capabilities, product development and registration experience as well as global market access.

Later in the year, these companies will launch the Sugarcane Nemix C product in Brazil. Nemix C, a purely biological product, increases growth and yield through enhanced root development and protection.
