The hard metal company Konrad Friedrichs GmbH & Co. KG (KF), today an enterprise with 110 employees, was founded in 1987 in Kulmbach/Germany.
KF has increased the production of tungsten carbide rods in 2010 up to nearly 700 tons, which surpassed the high level of 2008 by around 20 percent. With company enlargement in 2008 the basis was created to extend the product range and to bundle competences leading to higher capacities in 2010.
Since end of 2008 laboratory, final inspection, grinding department and shipping department are united in our new building. Thus young, highly qualified and also motivated and experienced employees are providing synergies which are necessary to create high-quality and long-lasting solutions for our customers.
KF is a producer of cylindrical tungsten carbide rods. Our product range covers VHM-rods without coolant ducts, VHM-rods with coolant ducts (straight or helical twisted with up to 6 coolant ducts), cut to length material and preformed special parts, e. g. stepped fixed lengths and fixed lengths with lateral coolant duct exits.
Our carbide grades K40UF, K44UF, K88UF, K40XF, K55SF and K6UF set worldwide standards in the area of hard metal precision tools. To meet the constantly rising demands from tool manufacturers we have concentrated our R&D word on new and further development of cemented carbide grades. In particular hardness and toughness of our materials are adapted to the increasing complexity of cutting processes, e. g. highly heat-resisting steels, superalloys and CFK, as well as High Performance-Cutting and High-Speed-Cutting.
We provide a worldwide distribution network on all 5 continents. As a medium-sized company with slender structure we react fast and flexible to our customer requirements. Based on partnership, we compile suitable solutions for the respective needs.
KF is certified after DIN EN ISO in 9001:2008. A comprehensive quality assurance system guarantees high-class standards of our products.
