Clariant presents three Secret Code of Beauty product ranges at PCHi 2014

As the call for a lifestyle that is both safer and more convenient intensifies, coupled with a growing consciousness among consumers about the ingredients in the home and personal care products they use, Clariant’s Industrial and Consumer Specialties Business Unit (BU ICS) rises to the task with their three new product lines — Plantasens?, Nipaguard? Zero and Aristoflex? BLV, all part of Clariant’s revolutionary Secret Code of Beauty concept. These new lines were on display at  the 2014 Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) last week in Shanghai. 

Launched in Paris in mid-2013, the Secret Code of Beauty defines Clariant’s position as a provider of solutions and a leader in the Personal Care market with a focus on hair and skin care. All products developed in line with the Secret Code of Beauty concept emerge from the unique combination of five codes focused on helping customers achieve new levels of success in Personal Care. 

Bringing specific product applications to help fulfill a wide range of unmet needs within the personal care market, Clariant’s product offerings on display will feature ingredients such as natural emollients and emulsifiers, plus a range of paraben alternatives. Specific applications of these alternatives include skin care, hair care, makeup and baby care products. 

Plantasens? natural ingredients are designed to “surprise the senses naturally”. This innovative range includes plant-based actives, unique emulsifiers, waxes and a broad selection of emollients that range from vegetable oils and natural butters to alternatives to silicones, petroleum and lanolin. As the majority of Plantasens? products are Ecocert?1-approved, they satisfy the requirements for the development of natural cosmetic products.

Olive Squalane is just one exciting new product under the Plantasens? line which will be on display at PCHi. A certified 100% olive-derived unsaturated hydrocarbon, Olive Squalane is a wholly environmentally friendly ingredient that brings an exceptional silky touch and long-lasting hydration to any face, body or sun care product application. 

With the launch of Nipaguard? Zero preservative blends, Clariant is responding to market demand for a reliable and effective alternative to parabens at a comparable price. They are based on Clariant’s novel and patented 100% renewable Velsan? SC synergistic booster. Containing no halogens or formaldehydes, four new Nipaguard? Zero blends have been developed for use in rinse-off and leave-on applications, wet wipes and difficult-to-preserve formulations. An Ecocert?-approved option is also available. Extensive testing to meet the highest standards ensures that formulators can have complete confidence in the effectiveness of all four blends to deliver the same levels of performance as traditional preservatives.

Adding a touch of luxury to all skin care formulations through its soft, velvety feel, Aristoflex BLV is the latest addition to Clariant’s versatile Aristoflex polymer range. Suitable for a broad range of applications, skin types and age groups, this product can be added at any formulation step and is characterized by excellent solvent compatibility. It is ideal for use in thin lotion formulations and comes pre-neutralized and ready to use.
