Clover SA, Nkunzi Milkway announce merger

FOLLOWING the approval of the Competition Commission on 23 April 2015, Clover South Africa and Nkunzi Milkway will be able to go through a merger, according to a report in Sowetan Live.

The merger between these two major dairies was previously blocked by the Commission as it might arise to competition issues as well as affect small farmers and employment.

The Commission reversed its decision after reviewing the appeal made by the two companies, but made them agree to certain conditions that would overall ensure fair play among smaller dairy companies and suppliers in the area.
