From the 6th May to the 10th May, CMB Engineering, a worldwide provider of canmaking machinery, exhibited some of its latest technologies at MetPack, including an advanced Canmaker, Die Sets and a promising virtual reality software which can be used to train customers from all over the world remotely. The company also hosted a dinner for some of its customers, in celebration of its 50th anniversary in its current headquarters located in Shipley, UK.
CMB Engineering is a regular exhibitor at MetPack; a global event which takes place every three years and is classed as the most important trade show in the international metal packaging industry. With a futuristic stand design reflecting on the company’s commitment to innovation, CMB Engineering displayed three distinctive technologies to the show’s 7,000 visitors. The CMB 5610 Canmaker - one of the company’s latest in its range - was on stand for the very first time giving visitors the opportunity to inspect the machine and learn more about its features and benefits on the spot. Designed to meet current customer needs and demands, the CMB5610 Canmaker is an energy efficient solution that helps can manufacturers minimise their power consumption, ultimately reducing operational costs.
The machine, which helps manufacturers ensure environmental responsibility, can also be fitted with three clutch options - Hydraulic, Pneumatic or the Hybrid clutch. Considering its clutch is dry running as well as hydraulically actuated, there is no need to rely on plant air or additional pumps. In addition, the machine also has a variable frequency pump control as well as a standby mode feature, also designed to help save energy during downtime, potentially saving up to 27k Wh per hour.
Marc Hoche, Head of Sales at CMB Engineering commented: “We are extremely pleased with the results and customer enquiries we’ve received for the CMB5610 Canmaker; this machine has been specifically designed with our customers’ needs in mind. At CMB Engineering, our ethos is to listen to customers and develop top quality canmaking solutions that meet these needs.”.
CMB Engineering also displayed and demonstrated its 3D training software. Visitors watched a demonstration of the new technology which will help facilitate training for customers around the world. The software, which was designed as a solution for faster and more effective customer service, enables customers to manually interact with machinery parts whilst also receiving guidance from an engineer. The engineer is given remote access to the client side user interface, making it an ideal quick response and cost effective training option.
The companies cupping Die Set was also exhibited; customers were able to learn about the solution’s advanced design which embraces reliability, precision and quick change for all press types on both steel and aluminium. The machine was also presented as operator friendly, cost effective with an easily maintained tool.
“With a global customer base, we really value opportunities where we are able to meet customers and other industry professionals to present innovations that help shape the future of the canmaking industry.” said Marc Hoche, Head of Sales at CMB Engineering.
On the second day of MetPack CMB Engineering hosted a dinner for customers to celebrate its 50 years anniversary in its Shipley site. The event took place in the lavish Hungenpoet Banquet Hall where several of the company’s global customers enjoyed a selection of food and wine. After dinner the guests were treated to table to table magic, by English magician and comedian Paul Zenon. Later in the evening, the company premiered an informative video about its core business and milestones. Customers were also thanked for their support throughout the past 50 years.
Andrew Truelove, General Manager at CMB Engineering then took to the stage to personally thank customers: “I would just like to reiterate CMB Engineering’s appreciation for all the support we have received from all our customers. The last 50 years at Shipley have been extremely eventful, and, we have been able to achieve our goals as a business thanks to our dedicated workforce as well as our customers.” Truevlove continued: “this year we’re also proud to celebrate a Queen’s Award for International Trade. This is a true reflection of what CMB Engineering values and works towards, with every intention to continue doing so for many more years to come.”
The event drew to a close with an astonishing firework display. The company is now looking forward to further celebrations with all its employees in Shipley later in the year.
