CMB Engineering opens Shanghai facility

CMB Engineering will improve its service to customers in China and Asia Pacific with the opening of an office in Songjiang District, Shanghai.

The new facility which opened in April, serves as sales and spares hub and will offer customers with on-the-ground, in-depth service and support. It will speed up delivery of tools and equipment to customers.

The leading worldwide provider of canmaking machinery based in Shipley, UK, has appointed Yau-Wai Chan to manage the new office.  Most recently Mr Chan was general manager of Bazhou Sinowin Packaging Co Ltd in Hebei, for three years.

Andrew Truelove, general manager at CMB said: “With over 35 years of valuable working experience in canmaking and in the packaging industry in China, Mr Chan will deliver strong, expert leadership within this region where he has vast experience. Yau-Wai Chan’s knowledge and skill sets will help us to achieve our long-term objectives of expansion in the Asia region.”

Over the past few years, CMB Engineering has seen continued growth in international markets and recently won the Queen’s Award for International Trade 2014 – the UK’s most prestigious award for successful businesses – the second time in four years that the Yorkshire-based engineering company has been recognised for its contributions to International Trade.
