Coca-Cola returns to Myanmar

THE Coca-Cola Company makes a historic comeback to Myanmar after 60 years, delivering its classic soft drink to customers in Yangon, Myanmar. This milestone marks the next step in the company’s long-term commitment to generating lasting positive impact by bringing its global brands to the country. Chairman and CEO Muhtar Kent was there to hand over one the first cases to a store in Yangon.

Local soft drinks manufacturer Pinya Manufacturing Co Ltd will be Coca-Cola’s bottling entity in Myanmar. Production is expected to begin as soon as possible, building on an initial distribution agreement established with Pinya to make the product available nationwide. Coca-Cola has a general practice of operating as a local business in every market it serves, including selling, distributing, manufacturing and hiring locally.
