SPECIALLY designed percolators featuring wider and shorter cylinders enable SPX’s coffee extraction plant to use more finely ground coffee. It offers efficient extraction and premium aroma quality with fewer green coffee beans and therefore lower production costs.
The equipment uses multiple extraction phases with steam stripping and low temperature to achieve aroma-rich extract. A flash separation process in a vacuum vessel during the secondary hydrolysed extraction phase removes off-flavours. A high-efficiency centrifuge cleans the secondary extract, while a multi-effect falling-film or plate heat evaporator makes it concentrated. In-line mixers offer uniform mixing of primary and secondary concentrates. Spray or freeze drying technology controls product quality.
