Almost every person has been to a hospital either as a visitor or as a patient. Hospital confinement is often times a very stressful and unpleasant experience. The most visible piece of furniture in a hospital room is the bed. The hospital bed have side rails that can be raised or lowered and a mattress base in the three joined sections so that the patient’s head, middle body, or feet may be raised by a crank or motor, allowing him to lie in various positions as a therapeutic aid or for comfort.
