Competence development for Schaeffler SEA distributors

SCHAEFFLER South East Asia (SEA) held its Distributors Days in Ho Chi Minh City from 4 – 6 June 2014, inviting more than 80 participants from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.

This event created an opportunity for Schaeffler SEA to work together with the distributors towards developing effective solutions for growing our businesses in the SEA region. In the course of the three-day event, Schaeffler addressed a wide range of topics, including our technical competence, the importance and commitment from Schaeffler to South East Asia markets, as well as effectively developing our distribution channels in SEA.

Mr Guido Beyss, President, Industrial Aftermarket, Schaeffler Worldwide, opened the event with a welcome address and presented Schaeffler’s global perspectives and direction for Aftermarket. Mr Ramdas Cherupara, President, Schaeffler South East Asia and Pacific followed with enhancing the importance of “In the Region, For the Region” and presented the regional overview. Mr Leonard Tan, Industrial President, Schaeffler South East Asia Pacific, gave an insight of the potential in South East Asia, and on the synergies of partnerships to achieve growth for the businesses and the region. On the 2nd day, exclusive round table sessions were held and participants were separated into smaller groups, according to countries, with focus on distributors’ market requirements and future collaborations. Open discussions and workshops were conducted on the round table day and topics discussed included Industrial Aftermarket Services, Market Approach to MRO Sectors and

Industrial Process Excellence.
A wide range of products and technology capabilities were showcased in the exhibition area of the symposium. Ball bearings, roller bearings, linear applications as well as service products like mounting/ dismounting tools, condition monitoring equipment and split bearings were on display. The exhibition allowed Schaeffler to showcase its product competency and advanced technical service capability in areas like design, material science, coatings, lubrication, condition monitoring and maintenance.
