Turnkey compounding plants complete with all essential machines and components are increasingly being demanded by customers in the Middle East that leading companies are now providing more options in a single package.

Coperion GmbH has been offering turnkey compounding plants to customers. With Coperion Middle East, a joint venture between Coperion and Saudi Arabia-based Golden Wing, being formed in the near future, Coperion will be able to realise its goal of extending its service network by establishing an additional site in the Middle East. Golden Wing is a provider of one-stop industrial solutions specifically in the areas of twin screw extruders, compounding systems, bulk material plants, pneumatic conveying, weighing, bagging, palletising, load wrapping, liquid filling and other material handling plants.

Numerous Coperion customers in this important core market will then benefit from an optimised service with faster response times and shorter distances. Besides the supply of replacement parts and the servicing and upgrading of compounding lines, Coperion Middle East will in future be able to offer the skills of its own personnel for the on-the-spot planning and execution of larger-scale repair, maintenance and overhaul of large-capacity extruders and compounding lines. For the sake of even greater efficiency, Coperion Middle East will also be taking over important functions in project execution in this region.

Over 8,000 materials handling references and around 10,000 existing Coperion compounding systems of all sizes formed a solid basis of its experience. High performance at all stages

The next generation of the ZSK twin screw extruders offered by the company made its world debut last October. The new ZSK Mc¹⁸ series of co-rotating, closely intermeshing twin screw compounders. With their maximum torque increased to 18 Nm/cm³, these new breed of compounding extruders achieve a 30% higher throughput than their predecessors, the ZSK MEGAcompounder PLUS series. With new sizes of the machine series, the ZSK compounding systems better meet the throughput requirements of the market. The machine sizes available in the ZSK Mc¹⁸ series range from 32 to 119 mm screw diameters.

The reduced specific energy input results in an improvement in energy efficiency. All in all, the ZSK Mc¹⁸ series is distinguished by a considerable increase in economic efficiency. This improvement in performance has been made possible by a combination of a great many innovations, including new, aerospace-proven high-performance materials, a new heating and cooling system for optimised temperature control and new gearboxes specially rated for the high-performance requirements of the ZSK Mc¹⁸ compounding extruder.
