CHILE'S Concha y Toro said it will strengthen the production of premium and superior segment wine by planting and development 540 new hectares of vineyards.
"The investment for this year will be USD60 million, mainly to improve the various areas like winemaking and technical aspects, support for our subsidiaries, and especially to open up new plantations that enable us to increase the volume of our premium and super premium products," chairman Alfonso Larraín said at a shareholders meeting held on April 23. The company produced earnings of Ch$50,482 million in2011, a record increase of 20.4% over the previous year.
