Conference addresses organic foods for EU
Source: Release Date:2010-11-10 99
SINCE the new EU organic label regulations on the 1st July 2010, declared food must have at least 95% organic content and display a reference to the source of its raw materials. But what are the consumers' actual expectations and the implications for the food industry? Which quality and safety issues play a role in organic food and what do comparisons to conventionally produced food show? Experts from Europe and the USA will discuss these and other questions on the International Fresenius Conference "Organic Food" in Mainz (near Frankfurt/Main, Germany) from 17 to 18 November 2010. Four main topics, "Market and consumers", "Law and certification", "Quality and safety" and "Future development", with several case studies and analyses will give a better insight into these fields. Participants will get an update on the EU law for organic food, changes in certification and import rules.
