A hundred of Krones’ Contiform 3 stretch blow-moulding machines have left the factory since its launching in November 2011.And for good reason, because the machine has gone through some major improvements —the blow module has been completely rethought; the field-proven linear oven has been enhanced and optimised in terms of energy consumption. From 2,000, it now has an increase in per-station output of 2,250 bottles an hour in conjunction with the new electro-magnetic stretching system. This feature has been welcomed by the market as a fit-for-purpose design enhancement and improvement of the field-proven Contiform technology.
In the Contiform 3, the product change-over times, plus the consumption levels for energy and compressed air, have been substantially reduced whilst at the same time upgrading the machine’s flexibility. These are features that the previous model did not have. Moreover, the 3rd-generation Contiform is now being offered in sizes ranging from 8 to 36 blow-moulding stations, enabling record outputs of up 81,000 containers an hour to be achieved.
The Contiform 3 continues what is meanwhile a 15-year success story by Krones’ stretch blow-moulding technology, with more than 1,700 machines installed so far.
