THE cold chain market in Asia is expected to boom in the next few years as the region’s demand for perishables grows alongside rising middle-class incomes. This offers better prospects for the cold chain logistics sector.

Amid robust growth in this sector however are issues on food loss. During transit some 30% of temperature-sensitive products end up as waste as a result of insufficient infrastructure, cultural differences and communication problems. To address these issues, Cool Logistics Asia will bring together players in the logistics sector, manufacturers of perishable products, exporters and importers.
Organized by Cool Logistics Resources Ltd (CLR) and Global Produce Events GmbH (GPE), the forum is scheduled on 2 September 2015 at the AsiaWorld-Expo Hong Kong, in conjunction with Asia Fruit Logistica, the trade fair for fresh fruit and vegetable marketing that takes place from September 2-4.
The new conference will focus on perishable logistics and temperature-controlled transport, and handling and distribution services in Asia. It will be a venue to discuss case-studies covering Asia (India, South East Asia and North Asia), multimodal transport forecasts, analysis of key infrastructure investments and the most recent refrigerated logistics technology.
