COSME Tech 2014 - 5thInt’l Cosmetics Development Expo (Asia’s leading exhibition for cosmetic Ingredients, OEM and Packaging) and COSME TOKYO 2014 - 3rd Int’l Cosmetics Trade Fair (Japan’s ONLY international exhibition specialised in cosmetics finished products) will take place at Tokyo Big Sight, from OCTOBER 20th to 22nd, 2014. It will move to autumn season from June as in previous years, becoming much bigger and much more international. It is expected that 600* exhibitors and 30,000* visitors will get together for business in this leading cosmetics event .(*expected)
Huge expansion in the scale
Last June, COSME Tech 2013 & COSME TOKYO 2013 concluded in a remarkable success, gathering 368 exhibitors & 20,638 visitors. Though it was already quite an achievement for such a young show, COSME Tech 2014 & COSME TOKYO 2014 are aiming to become much bigger –1.6 times bigger scale and 1.5 times more visitors. Due to the 2013 show’s huge success, exhibit space booked for the 2014 show has already exceeded that of the 2013 show’s final figure. With another 10 months before the show opening and exhibiting inquiries rushing in every day, it is certain that the 2014 show will open its gate with fully-packed exhibit halls.
Increased attendance from overseas
In addition, the 2014 show will become much more international, joined by several national pavilions and many more international exhibitors. In addition to existing Korea and Thailand pavilion who have already booked their booths with larger scale, many more pavilions are expected not only from Asia but also from Europe, America and maybe from Africa. Gathering international exhibitors from 25* countries, the show will be more attractive as the Asian hub of cosmetics industry, where you can find all kinds of products/services from ingredients, OEM, packaging to cosmetics and toiletries from all around the world. That is one of the reasons that more international visitors are expected next year, especially from other Asian countries such as Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and so on. Attractive Japanese market
Another reason for the rapid expansion of the show is that more overseas companies are setting their target to the Japanese market. Not only it’s the world’s second largest cosmetics market(and the world’s largest skincare market), the Japanese economy is showing signs of full recovery and strong growth, also helped by being selected as the Olympic host city. In addition, due to the aging population and growing interests toward more natural/organic and high-functional ingredients in younger generation, categories such as “anti-aging” and “organic” are showing powerful growth. While economic stagnation continues in Europe, the Japanese market is attracting a large attention again.
