RJG is offering a new product that monitors changes in the mold coolant flow rates or coolant temperatures. With the Burger and Brown’s new Smartflow Flowmeters, it has become easier to detect changes in the flow rate and the coolant temperature to help prevent problems with parts due to insufficient cooling.
The product is attached to the water lines and connects to the eDART System via a Flow-Temperature Sensor Interface (IA2-M-FT). Templates and alarms can be set around the readings from the Smartflow Flowmeter and easily viewed and managed from your eDART System. This product is engineered to be more robust, cost effective, and easier to integrate with the eDART System than prior solutions.

When interfaced with the eDART™ users can access and use data such as: excessive reject control, summary variables, template values, and summary and cycle values.
The Smartflow Flowmeter enables the operator to determine if the water temperature control unit is delivering the correct temperature needed to make good parts; reject parts if the flow or temperature doesn’t meet the set requirements to make a good part; create a template of the flow or water temperature; overlay the preferred GPM or temperature curves on the cycle graph; set alarms around peak values of the flow or temperature of the coolant; and set excessive rejects to stop the machine if the flow or temperature of the coolant rejects parts more than the set thresholds.
