Italian film producer Plastotecnica SPA has successfully modified its stretch film extrusion line and included a Reifenh?user rotary arm winder MIDEX-RA to change over to the production of CPP film. With this measure, the company will enter a new business area without large investment and, at the same time, increase the efficiency of the production line.
Thanks to the Reifenh?user MIDEX-RA winder, Plastotecnica will immediately be able to produce CPP film reels ready for conversion or sale - without the need for an additional rewinding operation. Reel changing cycles could also considerably been reduced compared to the previously used winder.
Retrofitting the new winder to the line was simple due to the available Siemens S7 PLC system. Plastotecnica was able to make the necessary modifications of line components itself after consultation with Reifenh?user Cast Sheet Coating.
Reifenh?user Cast Sheet Coating offers a range of different winder types that can be retrofitted to its own lines and to lines of other manufacturers. Rotary arm winders are of interest for the production of CPP film, in particular, due to about 60 percent shorter reel changing times and significantly reduced waste production.
