Coty Wins Award for Its Supply Chain Improvement

Coty Inc. has won the 2013 Manufacturing Leadership 100 Global Value Chain Award for its "Coty Supply Chain Defining Moment" initiative. The innovative project transformed the company's supply chain, allowing it to achieve operational excellence, while gaining a competitive advantage.

Coty says it focuses on constantly improving all aspects of its business, including its supply chain - an area that isn't often associated with innovation. 

Coty began its improvement program in 2009. First, specific actions were identified to help create a sustainable advantage in terms of complexity, cost, capacity utilization, supply chain cycle time, inventory levels and quality. The program was executed in three stages. Coty utilized the principles of lean supply chain networks, demand-driven planning and flexible logistics networks.
