BAYER MaterialScience will join Fakuma 2015 under its new name, Covestro, marking the first time the company will participate in a major international trade show using the new name. Fakuma 2015 will be held from October 13 to 17 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
The name Covestro reflects the identity of the company, with the first syllable “Co” emphasizing "collaboration" with partners, the second syllable "vest" pointing to investments in modern, large-scale production facilities to ensure competitiveness, and the last syllable "stro" from the English word "strong" meaning strength in innovation, markets, and in having a united team. The new name likewise embodies the company values "curious," "courageous," and "colorful” representing curiosity, courage, and diversity.
Rainer Rettig, head of Commercial Operations for Polycarbonates at Bayer MaterialScience in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America, said: "Curiosity will drive us to listen to customers and respond with creative and also unexpected solutions. Curiosity and openness are the prerequisites for being able to recognize early on the direction in which the markets are developing. This enables us to jump on the right trends and offer tailored developments that enhance the competitiveness of our customers."
The competitive market requires courage to seize an opportunity, address issues openly, or go against the tide. Covestro’s accomplishments demonstrate its colorfulness, diversity, and ability to think on a grander scale.
Covestro’s exhibits at Fakuma 2015, Hall B4 booth no. 4206, will highlight polycarbonates, polyurethane systems, thermoplastic polyurethanes, and the use of polycarbonate films. The company will also present new developments such as electric mobility for the automotive and transport segments.
