CHINA Petroleum Pipeline (CPP) and North America Western Asia Holdings (NAWAH) have recently entered into an agreement to pursue potential energy sector development projects in Iraq.
The companies hope to combine CPP’s more than 40 years of experience in the energy industry and NAWAH’s Iraq-focused equipment and supply-chain expertise to accelerate the development of new pipelines, refineries, and export facilities in Iraq. The country is looking for international partners, with projections calling for $48 billion of infrastructure investment.

CPP, a leader in pipeline engineering and construction, is a subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) specializing in engineering and construction of oil and gas industry-related projects.
CPP president Zhao Yujian said the company has the credentials and the commitment to assist Iraq in its accelerated, unparalleled development efforts.
“Over the past 15 years, from West Africa and throughout Asia, CPP has constructed more than 40 long-distance pipelines totaling 50,000 kilometers and installed tank farms capable of storing 20 million cubic meters of oil and gas,” Mr. Yujian added.
Distributor and logistics service provider NAWAH, which is headquartered in the United Arab Emirates with operational focus in Iraq, has established itself as a key logistical service provider in southern Iraq through its world-class supply and distribution and shipping and port management business lines. It is the exclusive partner for the world’s largest provider of pipe, valve, and fittings to the international oil and gas industry.
“Working alongside an industry-leading player like CPP furthers NAWAH’s reach into Iraq’s infrastructure development efforts,” said Paul Brinkley, president and CEO.
“Together with CPP’s technical ingenuity and NAWAH’s extensive reach into the Iraqi market as well as the company’s modern transparent business practices, this partnership brings enormous capabilities to Iraq and the country’s historic efforts,” Mr. Brinkley further stated.
