PACKAGING company, Crown Food Europe, will showcase its products and technologies at the Eurasia Packaging Fair 2014, to be held from September 18 to 21 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The company, a business unit of Crown Holdings, Inc., will present its products at Hall 7 Stand: 716. The product exhibits will include a full range of classic easy-open and peelable ends such as the award-winning Easylift.

The Easylift easy-open ends make it easier for consumers to open a variety of food products, including vegetables, soups and even pet food, through improved finger access under the tab. The PeelSeam opening system is ideal for single-serve portions.
With convenience remaining a key factor in purchasing decisions, brand owners are giving more emphasis to well-designed packaging that is also user-friendly and easy to open. Crown Foodcan Turkey leverages its capability to print, lacquer and manufacture food cans and ends to serve a broad range of food sectors. This confirms Crown’s global commitment to the regional economies it operates in and helps strengthen the company’s presence in a key market.
Turkey, which at present is the 18th largest economy in the world, is expanding significantly with an average real GDP annual growth rate of 5.2% between 2002 and 2011. This is expected to rise to 6.7% by 2017.
Specifically, the country’s canned and preserved food market is up +5% on value growth for 2013, coinciding with the rise of consumer disposable income. The most tamper-resistant food packaging option currently available, canned goods provide an ideal solution for fresh fruit, vegetables and fish products, which are widely produced throughout Turkey. The metal packaging’s barrier properties and hermetic seal provide 100% protection against oxygen, light, moisture and other contaminants. These help further in locking in nutritional value and raising product protection.
Rapid urbanisation, an expanding female workforce and a growing export market combined are diversifying Turkey’s consumer goods market and changing the consumption habits of consumers. This in turn is pushing up demand for infinitely recyclable metal packaged products, in particular convenient food solutions that are also environment-friendly. Metal packaging is currently positioned as an unmatched packaging format as it meets user requirements for convenient yet environmentally friendly packaging. Besides being able to protect the quality and taste of food products, metal packaging is 100% recyclable.
Olivier Aubry, Business Development and Marketing Director at Crown Food Europe, said Eurasia 2014 is the ideal opportunity to maximise Turkey’s strategic position as the largest producer and exporter of agriculture products in the Near East and North African region in boosting the market for packaging. The country is a key market for Crown as it pursues plans to expand in the region and continue providing innovative, quality packaging solutions.
“As a world-leader in metal packaging we are delighted to be taking part in such an important regionally focused event as Eurasia 2014,” said Mr Aubry.
