Danube: Reinforcing presence in Middle East & Africa

From a small trading firm, Danube has grown into one of the largest building material companies in the regions, with its diversified branches worldwide including UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India and also the emerging markets of Africa. To date, there are 35 Danube Building Materials and Build mart showrooms with procurement offices in Canada and China.

In a recent interview with International Metalworking News – Middle East & Africa, Rizwan Sajan, Founder and Chairman, Danube Group shared his company’s growth trajectory and its operating model and strategies going forward.

IMNEA: Which products and services does the company specialise in?

SAJAN: Established in Dubai 19 years ago, Danube Building Materials FZCO has grown from a small trading firm in 1993 into one of the largest building materials company in the region. The company has in stock, more than 25,000 products and value added services, and operates from its head offices in Jebel Ali Free zone with a total area of 5 million square feet.

Some of the products that the company specialises into include MDF, plywood, timber, boards, veneer, flooring, ceiling, laminates, fire solution, ceramic tiles, cladding, wall panel and steel. Besides the Building Material Division, Danube Buildmart is the home interior retail arm of Danube Group.

The product portfolio of Buildmart includes luxury sanitary ware, ceramic wall and floor tiles, parquet flooring, elegant curtains, wallpapers, window blinds, chandeliers, carpets, home decors, garden and outdoor furniture, pergolas, modular kitchens and many more building materials and home interior products.
