According to the latest report released by Euromonitor International ‘Packaged Food in China,’ consistent demand is fueling market growth. In 2011, the market was evaluated at over US$110 billion. The healthy packaged food segment is the rising star, in line with growing health awareness. Distribution channels for packaged food are hypermarkets, supermarkets and small groceries.
The Chinese packaged food market is characterised by fierce competition amidst domestic and international companies, says the report, with Yili, Shineway, Mengniu, Jinlongyu and Master Kong as leading industry participants.
