DENMARK’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it is increasing Danish Missions to Asia and Africa, and reducing its presence in some European countries, as economic growth shifts to emerging markets, according to Minister Holger K. Nielsen.
The Ministry also mentioned plans to strengthen trade relations with the Philippines (where it had re-opened an embassy in 2014) and Viet Nam for food and other products. Last year, Denmark sought to increase shipments of pork and ingredients to China and South Korea, and will aim to do the same in other parts of the region.
The Danish food industry is facing tough times as a result of the Russian embargo, and of food prices remaining low in the EU, said a report in The Copenhagen Post.
