Desco Equipment Corporation (DESCO), a leading manufacturer of high quality, cost efficient dry-offset printing machinery, announced that it is being acquired by Florida-based custom printing machine manufacturer, Apex Machine Company, Inc.
Desco operates a 50,000-sq.ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located on 8 acres in the Cleveland area and specializes in manufacturing systems for the handling and decorating of closures andvarious sizes of components such as pails, buckets, cups, tubes and lids in the global market. The company engineers and manufactures high-quality printing systems as well as spare parts, plates, blankets and inks.
Apex is engaged in the design, engineering and manufacturing of specialized printing and parts handling machinery for three dimensional components, offering advanced, high-end engineered solutions for complex product handling and printing in the medical, pharmaceutical, personal care and automotive segments to name a few.
By incorporating the assets and related resources of Desco, Apex and Desco are confident this resulting expertise will greatly contribute towards expanding product offerings.
Principals Leo Henry and Gene Gilbert have agreed to remain involved in Desco’s operations in order to ensure a smooth transition for customers, vendors and employees.
NPE 2015 participation
Now a division of Apex Machine Company, Inc. and with over 30 years of experience, Desco has produced customized dry-offset printing systems that prove themselves daily in applications around the globe.
Following the acquisition of Desco’s assetsand related resources by Apex, Desco will be able to provide an even wider array of systems and products to service the container and closure industries. At NPE 2015, Desco will have on display its high volume DRCP-4 Dual Blanket four-color rotary cap printer.
The DRCP-4 offers the following features: Up to 5,000 PPM; dual blanket cylinders allowing up to four color printing with overprinting capabilities; four lane capable of counting and boxing; perfect register printing (gear to gear drive system); running registration – radial and lateral adjustments can be made while press is operating; swing-away roll section for access to plate cylinder; variable speed motor driven ink fountains; additional options are available such as ink stirrers and product counters; selection from flame or corona treating systems; the FlexApex color head system will also be available on future systems.
