DETECTAMET has introduced the Detectable Double Detainment System brush range, a cleaning tool which uses stainless steel staples to fasten bristle groups into the brush head, and then the grip is reinforced by applying a detectable and antimicrobial resin to surround and lock in the bristles. This design fixes the bristles and eliminates the holes and dirt traps. Dirt and moisture are no longer able to accumulate in the tuft holes and from there contaminate the food processing environment. By and large the majority of bristle contaminations will be eliminated.

The consequences of contamination through accident or carelessness are also much reduced by the fact that the whole of the brush from the bristle to the body to the tip of the handle is made from detectable plastics. Pieces from any part of the brush can be identified and rejected by both metal detection and by X-ray scanning devices
The new doubly detectable range includes a set of stiff brushes with long or short handles, a soft hand brush, a stiff nail brush and a medium flat sweeping broom. Made in the UK from FDA-approved material all these new brushes can be autoclaved at up to 134°C (275°F) and work effectively in environmental temperatures ranging from -18°C to 79°C (-0.4°F to 174°F).
This new range under the Double Detainment System identity offers the food industry an additional critical control of the long standing hazard of contamination from cleaning equipment. Detectamet’s Sean Smith has says, “We are really pleased to add these new products within our ISO 9001 system. The all show the traditional qualities of well-designed and British made equipment.” Adidas
