Digital, without staff: KASTO makes it possible

KASTO has a world first in store for EMO 2023 attendees (18-23 September) in Hanover. In Hall 3 at Stand B08, the saw and storage technology specialist will be presenting a fully automated processing system. The staff-free concept makes 24/7 operation a possibility. The high-performance KASTOtec AC 4 production saw and the SmartSolutions Corner, where KASTO brings its digital solutions to life, are also sure to interest metal processing companies.

The motto of EMO 2023 is "Innovative Manufacturing" and it is the perfect description for KASTO's new solution. It enables fully automatic processing in unstaffed 24/7 operation. The experts have combined proven components into a newly designed, highly productive solution that functions in the smallest of spaces. The system is being presented for the first time at the fair.

Jump in to the world of automation

KASTO's digital world will be another highlight at our stand. To allow visitors to explore what KASTO has to offer, a separate space is dedicated to the SmartSolutions Corner. Anyone who sees this for themselves will catch a glimpse of the potential of digitalisation. KASTO's solutions make it possible to comprehensively automate storage, sawing and material handling processes and optimise them from a single source.

At the trade show, experts will present, for example, the Warehouse Management System (WMS) KASTOlogic, specifically designed for storing bar stock and sheet metal. With KASTOlogic, users can manage and monitor not only the processes in the warehouse; they can also uniformly manage and monitor the logistics and processing steps before and after. The KASTOlogic mobile app allows users to transfer all procedures such as storage and stock transfers, picking orders, shipping and inventory data to the WMS via smartphone or tablet, even for manually operated areas. KASTOlogic mobile can be easily used to implement even a so-called "Pick-by-Crane" system: The user utilizes the app to commission a connected indoor crane to automatically position the desired keyboard-operated storage and removal procedures using the respective coordinates. KASTO's digital solutions also include the KASTOoptisaw saw plan generator and the KASTO VisualAssistance interactive remote assistance solution.

Increased sawing productivity

Our fair exhibition will also feature the KASTOtec AC 4 band saw machine - a fully hydraulic, heavy-duty high-performance saw with horizontally parallel moving saw band. The saw cuts round, square and flat material as well as pipes and profiles in all qualities. It is perfect for tool steels as well as difficult to cut materials, i.e. titanium, hastelloy, or inconel. The saw's high level of performance was a clear priority for the developers.

The automatic sawing machines combine solid, heavy-duty machinery with innovative control technology. The control automatically links the step technology with the corresponding material quality and the saw band. It then saves this data. Thanks to the smart KASTO concept, the saw is easy to integrate into automation solutions. The result is a continuously controlled, intelligent material flow.
