Disk laser cuts parts costs

The TruLaser Cell 7040 from TRUMPF Laser Technology is a dual-station partition for simultaneous loading and unloading, a Y axis that's now 2,000mm for a larger working range and only one laser light cable for cutting. 

By integrating the sub-units into the machine and safety concept of the system, floorspace requirements have been reduced to a minimum, coupled with high uptime and good accessibility.

The laser is routed through a completely encapsulated beam guideway to the machining optics by a system of water-cooled mirrors. The FocusLine regulation system keeps the focus position steady across the entire working range; during laser cutting, it also ensures that the focus is automatically adapted to the material type and thickness by means of laser tables.

This yields uniformly good cutting results, reduces the need for operator intervention and thereby minimises the setup time. The rigid design of the motion axes with suitably high dynamics results in short machining times. Just like the TRUMPF LASERCELL 1005, the TLC CUT 5 can be programmed using TruTops Cell, TRUMPF's 3D offline programming system. 

The user-friendly control offers easy access to comprehensive laser cutting tables for a variety of materials; this translates into short trial times for new parts, coupled with high cutting quality, less refinishing work, all of which add up to greater production efficiency.

 In the last few years, the TruLaser Cell Series 7000 has set new standards in dynamic 2D and 3D material processing. Both volume producers with short production cycle times as well as job shops benefit from the modular 5-axis laser system that efficiently cuts and welds mass production components such as B-columns made of ultra resistant steel and aluminum tailgates. In addition to the CO2 laser models, TRUMPF has also offered the TruLaser Cell 7040 with a TruDisk disk laser since the beginning of the year.

Dual - station partition allows simultaneous loading, unloading

For automated parts processing, the TruLaser Cell 7040 fibre also comes with an optional rotational changer. The high-end laser system with solid-state laser, which is unique for its class, will also be equipped with a dual-station partition starting next spring. The dualstation partition allows for simultaneous set-up and laser processing with two available work areas each measuring four square meters. A sophisticated security system ensures that the laser's high safety requirements are met.
 Above all, the dual-station operation offers job shops the opportunity to benefit from the high productivity of the solid-state laser flexibly and efficiently and reduce parts costs.
