After 20 years of development, Decro has expanded to become a leading innovator in the country's BOPP film industry, spearheading functional BOPP film research, development and production. The enterprise has again gained industry and market recognition being the recipient of "Guangdong Renowned Brand" and "Guangdong Renowned Product". Mr. Weiman Luo, President & General Manager, explains to International Plastics News for Asia (IRNA) the company's strategy to achieve this leading position. IRNA: Please provide an overview of Decro's current capability and product range. Luo: We have various types of BOPP film products -- ranging from food, confectionary, labels, gift and flowers wrapping, lamination film to adhesive tapes, among others. Our major products contain Hologram Transfer Film (LT), laminated with cardboard or heatsealable film after embossing and glue coating, then peeled off to transfer holographic pattern on them, which again printed for the use of counterfeit packaging for cigar or medicine and food. Pearl Label Film for High speed labeling (LAf) is specially designed for wrap-around labels on PET bottle, such as those for Coca- Cola, Pepsi, soy milk and other bottles. Anti-fog film (Cow) is designed for HFFS, VFFS and overwrap application, especially for fresh products like fruits, vegetables, salad, and well-done food like sushi. There are also some other products like adhesive tapes, holographic films, and face masks. At present, Decro Pearl Label film dominates the market with over 90% market share in wrap-around label for softdrink bottles while Decro Holographic Base film series enjoys 60% market share of laser anti-fake based film industry. Other products like crystal film, anti-fog film, anti-bacterial film, synthetic film, pearl film, heat-sealable film, matt film are all high-ranked quality, with their properties reaching international advanced level. Decro brand films are widely applied and used in printing, lamination, laser anti-fake label, food packing, high class drink packaging and labeling, brand printing, UV polishing and other industrial applications. IRNA: Energy-saving and environment-friendly are the trends in the plastics industry, and Decro has developed a new product "Glueless Lamination Film (LEg)." What are its features and advantages? Luo: Glueless Lamination Film (LEg) was developed by Decro independently; it is also the world's first BOPP film product with revolutionary significance in terms of energy saving and environmental friendly features. At a certain temperature and pressure, LEg has outstanding features like good lamination bonding and high peeling strength on functional side; excellent machinability on printing side, suitable for foil stamping and screen printing. It can be readily applied for direct lamination with most lamination substrates without the need for adhesive to be applied through lamination processing. Overall, it is environment-friendly, economical and can be efficiently processed. IRNA: What unique selling proposition have you adopted to promote your new product? Luo: We adopted the franchising model to promote the product.
