Dole Earth aims for transparency

A YEAR ago, Dole Europe launched an online platform where consumers could trace bananas back to the farms where these were produced. This award-winning website, Dole Earth, helped to improve transparency in the supply chain. This year, it will also feature pineapples that come from Latin America and Africa. Dole pineapples to Europe will carry on a newly designed hang tag 5-digit farm code which will allow consumers to trace their fruit back to the farm. Visitors to the website can view the pineapple plantation through an interactive film to learn about pineapple cultivation and the people behind the fruit.
