DOW Food Solutions, a business unit of the Dow Chemical Company, will be at IFFA 2016 to announce the commercial availability of two new innovative technology platforms.
The METHOCEL™ Bind is a range of food stabilizers for meat and vegetarian applications designed to improve a product’s stability, bite and texture even at lower consumption temperatures. The technology also allows food manufacturers to significantly reduce the meat/egg and fat content of their products.
WELLENCE™ Fat Reduction is a range of cellulose-based food gums with optimized properties that help reduce the oil uptake of coated and battered food products -including meat and meat analogues- during frying. This allows food manufacturers to reduce the fat content of their products, enabling ‘reduced fat’ claims. The products are based on Dow’s patented DPM technology, which will be brought to the food market for the first time ever.
IFFA 2016 takes place from 7-12 May in Frankfurt, Germany.
