Helps upgrade water quality for drinking and processing, whilst improving flow rates and lowering energy use

Dow Water & Process Solutions (DW&PS), a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW), helps customers tackle water challenges in a sustainable way. It enables improved water quality for both drinking and processing, whilst reducing costs through improved flow rates, lower energy use, and smaller footprints.

“Through innovating new advances in membrane chemistries and operational efficiencies, we are increasing the quality while lowering the cost of producing or treating water,” said Snehal Desai, global business director, DW&PS. “Our approach incorporates a sustainability mindset for our customers. This is evident in our recent product introductions that carry significant sustainability benefits such as reduced energy requirements, increased flow and more streamlined design.”

Its new FILMTEC ECO reverse osmosis elements deliver enhanced energy savings and industry-leading salt rejection. Earlier this year the company purchased the remaining equity in Clean Filtration Technologies, Inc. and introduced TEQUATIC? PLUS filter which is a new way to remove fine particles from difficult-to-treat feedwaters without the need for costly cartridge replacements. Also this year, DW&PS introduced IntegraPac ultrafiltration skids pre-engineered to reduce material costs, lower freight costs and enable faster assembly.

“Every day we are contributing to Dow’s overarching goal to further reduce the cost and energy-intensity of water treatment. Our new products are a testament to our growth goals and dedication to customer success through innovative technology solutions,” said Desai.

“Additionally, we’ve invested in impressive assets and sourcing options to meet customer demand. In fact, our new DOW FILMTEC Reverse Osmosis manufacturing facility in Huzhou, China, will be online in 2013 to further meet market needs.”
