DSM opens Science and Technology Centre in China

Royal DSM N.V. opened its China Science and Technology Centre as part of its long-term commitment to China. The opening marks a new stage in the development of DSM in China, where the company has already been doing business for nearly 50 years. The DSM China Science and Technology Centre in Shanghai will be the company's main innovation base in the country and will form a vital part of DSM's global science and technology innovation network. On the grounds of the original DSM China R&D Centre, the new Science and Technology Centre integrates research and application technology activities in the areas of materials sciences, chemistry and biotechnology.  The centre will also drive DSM's development in China in several ways: by exploring and tracking market trends; by proactively responding to the needs of customers; and through interaction with the external knowledge infrastructure, such as partners at universities, scientific research institutes and industries. It will further exploit the innovation synergy at the crossroads of Life Sciences and Materials Sciences to provide high-quality, innovative solutions to a wide variety of needs in health, nutrition and materials.
